Jackets / Outerwear
Kustom Imprints sells a wide variety of jackets that can be custom screen printed and embroidered with your design or logo. Lighter weight jackets are often referred to as Windbreakers whereas heavier coats are sometimes called parkas. Since a jacket cost is many more times the cost of a sweatshirt or t-shirt, they don’t represent a huge volume of business for any screen print or embroidery company. And even though our business is in sunny Southern California, where the necessity to wear a heavy jacket is rare, and our company does sell quite a few custom screen print and embroidered jackets.
Light Weight Jackets
Light weight jackets or windbreakers are usually the least expensive. They are commonly made of nylon and either have a zipper or button up front. Coaches jackets are another style of a light weight nylon jacket. Lightweight pullover jackets are often called windshirts. Windshirts are popular with the golf crowd and also other recreations sports fans.
Polar Fleece Jackets
100% polyester fleece fabric is often made in several simple jacket styles and also considered outwear. Polar fleece vests are quite common in outdoor communities as well as polar fleeces pullover jackets and zip-up jackets. Some polar fleece is not made from polyester, but rather made from 100% recycled materials like old 2 liter soda bottles.
High End Jackets
Other jackets that are more expensive usually have a variety of extra pockets and liners and \higher quality exterior fabrics. Nylon is a common fabric for outwear. We also offer a small assortment of leather jackets which are always considered the top end of quality.
Jacket Brands
There is less variety of nationally known brands that manufacture jackets and are ready to be customized. We believe the brand Port Authority is the best option at just about every price point. Besides Port Authority, do still do offer other brands including Port & Company, Augusta, Vantage, Cardinal, Hartwell and Devon and Jones. Golf apparel manufacturers of Ping and Nike Golf also make nice jacket and windshirt options.
How jackets are customized
When being customized, most jackets are embroidered. Some lightweight jackets or specifically coaches jackets can be screen printed, but they are usually the exception and not the rule. Most of the customizations are done on the left chest or right chest of jackets. Just like polo shirts and twill shirts, rarely are full back screen print done on jackets. In addition, it is very common for work uniforms or other official type of apparel to have a custom individual name or name and title sewn right on the jacket.
Where are jackets used?
In schools, jackets are often part of a school uniform. In the work place, jackets are very common for employees who are expected to work outside for long durations. They also worn as corporate logo wear for when a casual setting are appropriate. Last, outwear is also given away as corporate gifts to clients and employees.
